The Wire season 5 was premiered on 1-6-2008 and the opening episode from season was entitled ‘More With Less’. Season opens with McNulty as he continues to stake out Marlo and his gang. New Mayor Carcetti is whipped by his commitment to schools and deals with some tough situations. Carcetti develops a plan but his police department plan gets leaked out. Carver is sent to a new location. As season comes to an end, Carcetti is forced to put his political future in jeopardy. Season finale ‘-30-‘ was aired on 3-9-2008. Season as well series ends as Carcetti reacts on a damaging report presented by Pearlman and Daniels. Dukie is searching for an old mentor whereas McNulty struggles to put a homeless case to an end. A fallen officer is given a wake.
