The Wire revisits Peterson
Wire can safely be described as a modern classic in the history of television. It has run five successful seasons and though each season touches separate aspect of society yet it remains joined to the main premise. Wire was widely appreciated for its realistic depiction of crime, drugs and the struggle of police to keep these gangs off the streets in Baltimore. The series and the actors portraying various characters have been critically acclaimed and much loved by the people. Now its demons have come back to haunt the actor Felecia Peterson who played a killer in The Wire.
She was arrested in Baltimore on drug charges. How stranger can it get for her folks? Police wanted her in the murder trial of Steven Lashley. Police claims that Pearson is a witness of the brawl that ended in Steven Lashley stabbing three men, one of them later died. So when police went to her home to get her for not cooperating with them they discovered two cigars allegedly filled with marijuana. Lucky for her that she has just been charged with one count of drug possession. Things could have been worse.
Last June The Wire won four nominations including Program of the year, and the annual Heritage Award which is granted to a show who has positive impact on society. All five seasons of Wire dealt with different sociological themes yet they were woven together so deftly that they appeared to be part of a larger whole. The fifth and final season of The Wire ended this year.
